Lara is ambitious about Architecture & Conservation, with a fascination for heritage buildings and their connection to society.
She graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Built Environment Studies from the University of Malta in 2018 and a Masters degree in Architecture and Conservation at the University of Malta in 2020. Lara initiated her career with JLZ+MBF Architects as an intern upon the formation of the company in 2017 and has continued to grow, taking on a lead role in the Planning and Design department.
Her academic and professional interests include an understanding of how to merge old with new, while creating an aesthetical but functional space. Lara constantly seeks to better understand what makes up Malta’s traditional methods of building and how to safeguard them. She believes that the role of the architect is also to provide a quality space, by incorporating elements which encourage good interaction with its users.
