Comprehensive testing protocols were in place, which included evaluating fresh concrete, taking cube samples from each truck, and extracting cores from the piles themselves. Strength development was monitored over a period of 56 days due to the use of retarding admixtures. Additionally, integrity tests were conducted using embedded metal tubes, allowing for sonic testing of the piles.
The vertical piles were designed to bear vertical loads and support a network of beams, providing floor support and diaphragm action. To address lateral loads, including seismic forces, inclined piles were incorporated in the design. Further details on this will be discussed in subsequent section.
